On 19th of May 2018 a group of children from Luxembourg came back home after participating in the World Games of Young Compatriots held in Kazan (Russia). During a week 650 children from 61 countries took part in different kind of sport activities such as chess, gymnastics, football, swimming and others. In the field of chess there were 92 participants from 38 countries such as Russia, Spain, Italy, Jordan, China, Sweden, France, Armenia and many others. Luxembourg was represented by 4 participants, including Pablo Ortiz Bogdanov (Gambit Bonnevoie) for whom the World Games were his first international competition. With a total win of 5.5 points from 11 rounds Pablo managed to close the first half of the aggregated final rating and ranked 46th out of 92 players, showing the best result from the Luxembourg team and becoming the second ranked from U10 category of all the tournament.
