From 5–7 August 2025, Gambit Bonnevoie’s rising stars competed at the European Youth Rapid & Blitz Championship in Thessaloniki, Greece.
- Ema Jakša, 2024 European Champion, obtained the 4th place in Girls U12 Rapid and 9th place in Blitz. Just half a point more would have secured the 2nd place for Ema, but two draws—both from winning positions—kept her off the podium. Even so, Blitz brought notable highlights: she held all three medalists to draws and beat both the 2024 European Champion Horodna and the 2025 Champion Svitenko. Competing for the first time in an older age group, Ema (born 2014) was the best finisher of her birth year in both Blitz and Rapid, where most ahead of her were older players!.
- Adam Amroune – 4 points in Open U10 Rapid and 8.5 in Blitz. Adam’s result is a great achievement for a first participation, and he started playing chess only a bit more than 1 year ago!
- Léo Delanne – 4.5 points in Open U8 Rapid, landing on place 27 in Europe, and 8 points in Blitz, where he was among the youngest participants, which underscores his robust performance.
The event gathered over 450 players from 36 European federations, making these results a proud achievement for the club.
Congratulations to Ema, Adam, and Léo for their determination and sportsmanship on the international stage!
