Chess and a Mediterranean cruise come together this December for an unusual new event organised by Levacic Chess Academy: the first Chess Tournament Cruise aboard the Costa Toscana, from 6 to 13 December 2026.
The week combines a full Mediterranean cruise with an 11-round rapid tournament, a blitz tournament, and daily chess analysis and lectures with International Master Damir Levacic.
Chess programme
The chess programme includes:
- an 11-round rated rapid tournament
- time control: 15 minutes + 30 seconds increment
- one round per day on excursion days
- three rapid rounds on the morning of the full day at sea
- a blitz tournament on the afternoon of the day at sea
- daily analyses and lectures with IM Damir Levacic
Participation in both chess tournaments, as well as the lectures and analysis sessions, is included in the player’s cruise price.

The cruise takes place aboard the Costa Toscana from 6 to 13 December 2026, departing from and returning to Marseille.
